😡 is this for sure? is the battery really going to last for only 180 talk time. the 8000 is like 280 min, and the moto e815 is 280 min also. do you think phonescoop has that wrong?

the spec sheet i got directly from lg about a month ago states "usage time, up to 3.7 hours" which would come out to 222min. that sounds about right. all of the v-phones have been listed with exceptional battery life.

Just keep in mind the more features the phone has the more battery it will use. This is especially true during data transfer operations. Just keep that in mind. So if you do have similar battery life as a technologically more simple phone be very happy about that. You can always get an extended life battery which is a great idea with all the things you can do on the VCast network. I think you may even be able to upgrade your battery at the time of purchase for the price difference of $20, but I am not certain on this one.

not aware of that 20 dollar upgrade. regular batteries are 40 and xl's are 60 so there's a 20 dollar difference. the standard comes right in the box so i doubt they'll let you swap it out. xl's are always a nice thing to have. also keep in mind, extra features only use more battery life when you're actually using them.

Well, the way that I understand it is that the advertised battery life with the phone is the battery life of the extended battery. As you can see it says, 'up to.....'

the "up to" only implies performance under optimal circumstances. i can't imagine verizon would allow a manufacturer to list specs with optional equipment. that would be strait up shady.

That is correct. "up to" does refer to optimal lab conditions. New battery, full charge, full signal strength the whole time, basically the best it could ever be, real life usage will almost always be less.

Sounds just like how MPG is rated on cars.

Couldn't they just roll it down a mountain and not use any gas? Who would ever catch on?

yeah, i understand that when you use certain things that the battery will drain, but the "up to 180 min. of talk time" is talking about...... TALK TIME! 🙂 if the vx8000 holds up to 280 min TALK TIME, that would be quite the downgrade now, wouldn't it? i hope it is bigger than that, like eightoeight mentioned earlier that he saw it being around 222 or something. if i am going to buying a phone that retails for over 400 dollars, i better to be able to talk on it for more than 3 ho...
