For crying out loud....Why do I ant this phone?
I'm certainly not a "phone nerd" (sorry, no offense intended)....meaning, I don't need a bunch of features I'll never use or understand.
I pretty much could care less about the removable storage feature, the evdo stuff (why would anyone need that?), really don't need the camera, will likely never ever listen to mp3's on my phone.
Other than all the hype generated here, I have no idea why I should even be considering this phone. I just really like LG phones, really want a good speakerphone (love the 4650) and like the thought of a wireless headset...with vibrate nonetheless! But hell....I don't even know how well the BT headsets work?
So, the 11th is past my 15 days and i'm generall...

Don't know about your personal reasons... my reason for wanting this phone is strictly a bluetooth issue and the desire for a well built phone. I want the bluetooth only so I can use a handsfree speaker in the car - like the Motorola HF800. From what I hear, most speakerphones cannot be heard over the din of traffic. I also would like a camera phone - for entertainment reasons. Everything else is not important to me. The only other choice via Verizon is the e815. But Motorola has had some serious problems with quality over the past 2 years and I don't want those types of headaches.
Good luck on your decision - but its not something you'll have to live with forever, just a couple of years!

After reading the Motorola e815 forum - the phone came out just this week, and already there seems to be a number of people who are experiencing echo'ing when they use the phone. This is another reason why I'm looking forward to the 8100.

verizon only allows one swap during the 15 days. are you a new cust or just upgrading? if you're upgrading you can actually switch back to your old phone until this one comes out. just a thought. basically you'd just be switching to get bluetooth from what you say. you just have to decide if the hassle of switching and the extra money is worth it to you.

Defenately cus of bluetooth 😁
I just wana talk on the wireless headset and being able to connect wirelessly to pc is nice...
Besides vx8000 wich I was lookin earlier doesn't have bluetooth and that think is way tooooo bulky to fit in my palm it looks liek a brick too 🙂 vx 8100 is alot smaller and looks better.

Iguess what I am asking....."do you get another 15 days with whatever phone you choose to replace the first one?"
Say I have them re-activate my old phone, for a while...then go back and get the 8100.....What if after a week, I decide I don't want it and I want to go back to a 4650?
Am I jsut stuck with the 8100?
What about the NE2 credit that was used for the 4650.....does that still get applied to the 8100?
thanks!

If you don't care about evdo/mp3/or camera! Then you are right, you don't need this phone. The bluetooth headsets work great however! If your happy with your 4650 then keep it, it's a nice phone. You will just be paying extra for stuff it sounds like you will not use.

Thanks all....
I do like the notion of wireless headset! I'm a muralist and decorative painter and there's times when I'm up on a ladder, or on a scaffold with brushes in my hand.
....Still not use to this wire dangling....even if I run it under my shirt....I'm gonna get it snagged on something I just know it.
Correct me if I'm wrong...but I didn't think the BT allowed connection to pc via the BT (isn't that disabled or something?)
Also, I upgraded through NE2 about 12 days ago!

yeah, no pc connection. there might be a hack for it out before long but i'd rather not mess with that stuff. about the multiple swaps, i'd just talk to a rep at the store. officially when you swap you're stuck with the 2nd phone no exceptions. what we've done at my store is swap you for the 2nd phone and mark the box for your first phone and set it aside. that way if you decide to swap back we just gave you your original phone back(as in the exact unit you first purchased)that way we're only sending one unit back to the manufacturer.
