When this phone is released, will the full VZW store locations be able to handle moving my contact info from my VX4400 to the VX8100?

BTW, yes, I have bitpim and can backup the info - but that wasn't my question.

I'm sure they can... for a price. 😉

**I'm still mystified why folks ask carrier specific questions in an open forum instead of simply picking up the phone and calling the carrier directly.** 🙄

Because 9 times out of 10, the idiots on the other side of the line either (a) don't have a clue about what you're talking about, (b) make up an answer on the spot, or (c) tell you the wrong info.

I've learned not to simply call VZW with questions like that, since there's a tiny chance (a) I'll actually speak with someone who knows the CORRECT answer or (b) cares enough to put down the phone, and GO ASK SOMEONE WHO DOES.

I've wasted too many trips driving somewhere, only to find out "oh, sorry, we don't have that in stock" or "sorry, whoever told you that was wrong".

he's right here. think about this, the call center people don't get to actually use the phones. they sit at a desk and if you're lucky read a few phone write up's. plus they'd have no clue if we have the data cables or appropriate software at the store locations. to answer the question though. yes, it'll use the same cables as many other lg phones and we already have the 8100 software loaded in the transfer machines. not true for the 4650 by the way. somebody dropped the ball there.

especially....since it's a question about the 8100.....like the person on the phone can even tell you that this phone exists yet let alone answer a technical question (although this is not really that technical...I'm sure they can do it as they do most other phones)
