Read the Manual and...
I was checking out the manual on Infomanager and the outer buttons, back, play, forward are just known as multifunction buttons, but no mention on what they do at all from what I see. The 512mb card is included and pix/flix are transferable on it. Apple Quicktime 6.0 required. I think they are downplaying MP3 capable until Get Music is live.

FYI... The vx8100 comes with 512MB of internal memory... It does NOT come with any MiniSD card... they are available cheap at http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=103 88959&loc=101&hdwt=0&sp=1

anyone read for sure that it will accept the 512 mini sd? i've seen other devices that won't accept the largest cards.
