Can I play mp3's stored on the sd card through my BT headset?
I was ready to get the palm treo 650 until I heard the the BT is ver. 1.1 which means that you cant play mp3's throuch the BT headset. Im not sure if this true. the post said that you need BT ver 1.2.
Does anyone know if the 8100 is BT 1.1 or 1.2?

Dunno I listen mp3's on my ipod aneway 😁

I think in a way the 8100 will replace the ipod.

Lol it doesn't have 40 GIG of storage 🙄

Actually the motorola and apple "iPhone" will be the next big gadget. Of course Verizon is pre-empting that with (a most likely inferior) music on demand service for this LG phone.

I agree I don't think any music download service can compete with an ipod. Even at EV-DO speeds it should take a while to download a 5MB mp3. Plus with the crippled functionality of a Verizon phone you can bet it will be a pain in the *** transferring files back and forth, if you can at all. Verizon may cash in as being the first to offer this music service, but they won't be dethroning the ipod anytime soon.

Lol EV - DO has 300 - 500 kb/s dl speed that means downloading a 5 mb mp3 gona take u 10sec...

FYI...
It is 500 Kilo-BITS- per second, not Bytes...
Verizon promotes a "typical EVDO speed of 400-700 kbps"...
With packet overhead and inter-packet time, just divide a Bits per second rate by 10 to get an average Byte per second rate...
A 5 Megabyte file takes about 90 to 100 seconds to transfer over EVDO...

who cares. the 8100 is sick. end of story.

That's still fast enough to stream a song right into your phone. The videos on VCast only buffer for 10 seconds or so at that. It depends on how long of a clip you're getting though
