Is the VX-8100 a clear 100% upgrade versus the VX-8000 or is there any reason to prefer the VX-8000?

I bought 3 VX-8000's on July 2nd so I guess I can switch them out for VX-8000's until July 17th.

Of course I've just spent a bit of time setting up and customizing the 8000...

From what I've heard, you've got until Aug. 2nd to make your decision.
Everyone's told me you've got 15 days to return, but 30 to exchange.

My question to somebody in the know, if I do this, will I be able to get my NE2 discount on the 8100 still, and then will the take off the $99 I paid for the 8000.
I'm seriously considering getting the 8100, especially if it's no extra charge to me.
When I got my 8000 back on June 24, the phone was at $199.99, less my NE2 discount, bringing it to $99.99. I haven't sent in the rebate form yet, just in case I decided to go 8100.

Yes, I've done the same re: waiting to submit rebate forms in case I exchange the phones for the 8100's.

From the pictures, I like the keys on the 8000 better. They're bigger, and in a straight grid format.

The curved layout style, which it looks like the 8100 has, is harder to use without looking at the keyboard.

Also, personally I don't really like the curved streamlined look - one thing I dig about the 800 is the almost-square corners.

I'm sitting here right now, with both the 8000, which I bought last week while out of state (broke my old phone, which was another carrier and I had planned to change, anyway) and the 8100, which I bought two days ago, after having returned home and realizing that I could not port my original phone's (old carrier) number over to the phone I bought out of state. So, off I went to buy yet another phone, only this time, I got the 8100, and plan to return the 8000. Problem is, I'm not sure which one I want to return!

There are clearly features about both phones that are desireable. If you have large hands (I do), the 8000 is a dream. If you're an old timer (at 55, I'm getting there), the large numbers and screen on the 8000 is a dream. I...
