Spoke with the *611 guy. He said he received an e-mail stating the release date is 7-11 for our area... happy hunting.

Damn - *611 confirmed its availability on 7/11 yesterday, but they claim it's not released today. Maybe they read all the issues on Phonescoop and are fixing all the ones we'll get!!! 😁

VZW isnt going to change their policy on phones just because we are bitching here on phonescoop!
Also keep in mind that VZW doesnt change anything on the phone... the manufacturer does... LG has produced many many many 8100s, and what they have now is what they will have...

Anyway... just posted on the release for DC. It's released through 611. Call and they will say, yes, it is available to order.
