Clearing confusion about 611

Many people are REALLY lost when it comes to calling 611. When you call 611, yes, you will be redirected to a VZW employee who works in the store. However, there is something called 'telesale(sp)'.

The person who answers might say they don't have it or that it's not released (this lady said the computer doesn't even say what month) but they aren't the ppl you need to talk to. Ask them to direct you to telesale. They have a seperate inventory and might have it in stock.

Good luck...

I am a store manager at Verizon Wireless and this is completely incorrect!! When *611 is called it directs you to the call center of the region registered where your phone number is....example a customer calling from GA would be directed to the Alpharetta call center...A customer calling from trenton NJ would be directed to the Morristown call center....In order to get a store you must dial it direct

Whatever... so it takes you to a call center... MY POINT IS YOU HAVE TO GET REDIRECT TO TELESALE! Whether or not 611 takes you to the store or not is NOT what I'm getting at.

Damn, people need to stop trying to find fault in EVERYONE and provide calm corrections. There's a LOT of difference between "INCORRECT!!! THIS IS INCORRECT!" and "To correct something, it takes you to a call center".

Again, the point is, you need to get redirect to telesale or WHATEVER IT's CALLED!

Haha... no.

It's because people can't ever just simply correct anyone without offending them...

And your post brings up another CON. Instigation! There always has to be a 2nd person who wants to make the fire bigger.

haha its just amusing how some people express themselves. In your 1st response you seemed really upset when the other guy corrected you, but now you seem relaxed and laughing about it. But my final note is Instigating (when done tastefully) is what make these message boards fun. Hats off to all of you instigators out there! 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁

Lol.

No, I was just ticked that the person came off as if people can't be wrong.

Funny. The person simply corrected you. Sure, the poster used a few extra punctuation marks, but so what? You say the whole "where your call is sent to" argument isn't where you were going with that post, then why even post useless information? You thought you were right. But you were proven wrong by an employee who actually knew the truth. I'm sure those extra punctuation marks were warrented. I'd hate to be an employee browsing these forums seeing all of the mindless, untrue babble that is spoke of the company. I'd be sure to make my point get across, just as the poster did with you.

So, in conclusion. Don't jump on somebody's case simply because they corrected you. The poster that corrected you said nothing to belittle you. ...

It always amazes me how somebody always take offense to an answer if it isnt worded just right.

This site is supposed to be informational and not for name calling.

Heafer: thank you for making it clear where 611 calls get routed too.
😁
Grimm: Thank you for your help.
