sorry guys, i've posted this MP3 issue on other threads but i'm desparate. i just bought my 8100 yesterday. however, i just found out that you cannot play any music on this phone since there isn't a MEDIA PLAYER application installed on this phone. talked to several VZW reps, and some are in the dark. one talkd to LG and said that the application is in the works and they have no idea when this music player will be ready. i also bought a miniSD 512 MB card to see if a music player might pop up, as a store rep suggested. dumb suggestion. as expected, a new application does not suddenly pop up when you insert a memory card.

anybody on the inside know about this MP3 situation?

Wow- sounds like the same problem the 8000 has, it's supposed to be there but it's not.

The only thing I can think of that when Verizon launches the "Music on Demand" application, the MP3 portion gets loaded onto your phone (completely in the dark on this response).

The fact is... it doesn't. You have to get the music when the network thingy comes out. Nothing we say or speculate will change what's happening.

True. We cant change the facts. But we dont really know what the facts are. Thats all we are trying to learn about. Hell, we still aint sure when the phone is really released. And based on others posts, neither do the VZ reps. All we want is information...

(and you are number 6...)

why would what one manufacturer does affect another? The 710 plays MP3s but the 8000, 6100, and the samsung 890 don't... so why would "because A does shouldnt B?" work?

all of this whining about being charged to send a picture. personally pay the money for the service or don't do it at all. Don't blame verizon for the fact that we live in a capitalist country where the main goal is to make a buck. There are plenty of cell phone carriers out there that don't cripple phones. go to cingular or something. Oh wait they have crappie reception, hmm who would have thought that you would want to use your phone as a phone and not to just send pictures. If you want to be able to call someone stay with verizon, if you want to transfer pictures for free go to a different carrier. If you haven't noticed sprint's treo 650 doesn't allow file movements. Get a clue, the industry will slowly follow verizon, y you ask? simple ...
