GREAT NEWS FOR WASHINGTO DC FOLKS
YES, the Vx 8100 IS released for us lucky folks! However, stores that I've been to do not have test phones out... I didn't ask if they had them in stock, but I did ask about the release date and they were clueless.
HOWEVER, I called 611 and usually, they will say they have NOTHING on the phone. HOWEVER, today, I said I have a question on the LG Vx 8100. He said hold on... brung up the page.. and said, what do you need? Now, he BRUNG UP THE PAGE! I knew, by that, that the phone was out... but I asked ANYWAY. To my surprise, he said YES, it is out.
THEREFORE, stores might not have them until the 15th, but you better jump on the 611 bus because they're selling them to us over the phone. You get the same in-store benefits, so no worries.

I live in Alexandria, Virginia which is northern Virginia. So i was wondering since I live 10 minutes away from D.C do you think the phone is available here?

I tried *611 numerous times and was told only the west coast billing section could order them.
I pretty much begged and begged for them to sell me the phone and all I got was that Friday I could try again as that was the date they had.
So if your close to my billing area...how is it possible you can get the phone while I can't?

Well, here's where some people are getting confused... (this isn't really responding to your question, but I thought I'd let everyone know) The 15th is when the phones are available IN STORES. That's why there are two diff. dates.
Now, I did call again, and I was told that Telesale DIDN'T have it... I think I'm going to try again until I get the first person who answered, lol, because something is wrong with communication in telesale and it's really pissing me off.
So, let me try again, and I'll get back to you. Maybe the first guy was a knut and I really CAN'T buy it. Maybe not.

NVM! This is getting on my LAST NERVES. Communication inside telesale SUCKS! One guy says it's available, ANOTHER says it's NOT! Then the third person says it's not...

Trust me, I am beating myself UP! But see, the thing was, I was disconnected because I was in Union Station and service various in diff. parts of the building.
But, I've given them a good, seven more calls and all have come up to say that it isn't released... so, Friday isn't SO bad. At least it's not August. I can wait four more days...

Keep calling, and when you call just say you are calling to order the 8100, don't ask them if its available there obligated to say NO. Then if they say it has not been released yet tell them you know for a fact that it is and make them look like there out of the know, they tend to try a little harder with this approach.

I mean, come on, there has to be a valid reason why a credit card wasn't pulled out. As much as I want this phone... first chances are the only ones... but nope... Union Station has spotty areas... that's how I lost em.

I was in the Verizon store today to replace my 2nd 8000 to my 3rd (which they didn't have and had to be ordered) and asked someone in CS about when its getting released. The CS rep told me 2 weeks. I did have them note in my account that if this 3rd 8000 screws-up than I get to upgrade to the 8100.
I figure if the 3rd 8000 holds true to form then I should have my 8100 in about 6 weeks.

Anyway, some stores still say "Coming Soon", so they might tell you a few weeks, whatever. They're computer isn't going to change until they actually GET the phones.
Plus... the Lg vx8100 has been releasing since last week in diff. areas, so why would it take another two weeks to get to us? Nope... the phone will be in stores, July 15th. I specifically asked about IN-Store dates to ALL of the eight or nine people I talked to and about five confirmed July 15th for stores.
Like always, the dates are subject to change, but so far, 2 weeks, or even more, is unlikely.

Anyone in the DC Area - I just got 2 at the Verizon Store in Fairfax. Not to be released until the 15th, but they sold it to me anyway.
Hurry... They only had 6. After mine, there are only 4 left!
Also, they will try to sell you a car kit which includes a car charger, headset, and leather case. It jacks up the price by $50. It was only after getting a little upset when he said they could unbundle the phone and reduce the price by $50. Price AFTER unbundling: $199 w/2 year contract, NE2 = $99, $50 Rebate = $49.00
