Found a store that carries the phone in Los Angeles, CA area
Here's the real scoop. I've called customer service several times today and also called a bunch of stores, everybody says it's the 15th. BUT I tried 611 one more time today and finally got somebody who knew what they were talking about. (I'm in L.A., so I don't know if this applies anywhere else.) The rep said that the phones are available through customer service, but will not be sold in stores till 15th. One of the catches is that the $50 rebate will not be valid until 7/15. So the price of the phone w/a 2 yr contract (renewal for me) is $199.99. So if you get it early, you will pay 199.99 and lose the rebate. Actually I am looking at the rebate now and there is no "beginning" date. It just says it's good through Aug 28th.
I just got home from the store and I love how the phone looks and feels! Lighter and smaller than the E815. I have to charge it for a bit and then I will start playing around with the features.
