I know there's already a thread on this, but thought I'd post another one in case anyone else has more questions...

Would you be able to post any pictures? It's kinda nice to see the actual phone instead of just what they have on this website. People can kinda get a better look at the phone. I know someone else posted some pictures, but i don't think more would hurt.

Oh, how does the blue color look on the phone? Also, would you say this phone looks "manish"? I'm a girl and don't really want anything that is too masculine and big and ugly.

Thanks!

I just took a couple of pics with the camera on the phone itself. Unfortunately I don't have a regular camera with me to take the pics of the keypad and inside screen. But how can I post them so everyone can see?

I really like the phone. I think it is pretty much unisex. I have been using a Moto V60 for about 2 1/2 years and the 8100 is not much bigger. I got the 8000 back in May and returned it because I thought it was too bulky although I loved the screen. Then I got the Moto 815 on Sunday and thought it was a little bit heavy too so I exchanged it for the 8100 yesterday. The blue has a slight metallic to it, and is not really navy blue and not teal because it doesn't really have any green in it. I like it. I would say it's kind...

If you have Yahoo you can post pics here (or you can register and then post).

Here's a couple of pics I took in the mirror. Sorry it's just the outside, but it's all I can do until I get to a regular camera.

Nice shot! That's pretty good for indoors with minimal lighting. How do you feel about the size of the phone?

It would be wonderful if you could post a video taken by the phone.

I wish I could tell you for certain but I believe it would be the same way you posted the pic. Lets hope someone who has more knowledge than either of us chimes in.

Have you viewed a video clip on your phone or on your computer that was transfered from the phone?

I am still up in the air on the 8100 or the E815.

I have tried saving and viewing a video clip and it looks pretty good. I have yet to transfer anything to the computer or vice versa because I need to buy the miniSD card.

Let's get back to basics:

Since you had the 815 - can you answer the following:

1) How far off is the 8100 in reception to the 815?

2) Sound quality - both via the ear and through speakerphone - can you compare the two phones?

3) On the phone vibrating and ringing: does one phone stand out from the other?

4) Menus: can you compare the two.

5) If you have used a bluetooth remote with it - is there any difference between the two?

6) Without showing a bias of one phone over the other - which do you believe will have both longevity and the least problems?

Thanks for your time.

Answers to palermo22's questions

1)Both phones had good reception. I used both phones inside a building and while driving and didn't have problems. I do think that the speaker is louder on the 8100 though. No dropped calls in either one, but I've always thought he service provider is the main reason for dropped calls, not the phone, buy maybe I'm wrong.

2) Sound quality is good on both phones also. I did not get any static and voices come through very clear.

3) The vibrate on the LG definitely stands out. I've had the V60 for about 2 years and teh vibe is pretty weak. The 815 is just as weak. The 8100's vibe is strong and is like teh 8000, which I had for about a week a few months ago.

4) I definitely like the LG menus ...

Thanks for your elaborate response

One last question: everyone says the battery is better on the 815 - is that an issue, i.e. is the battery on the 8100 decent or is the 815 battery that much better?

I think there are a few posts already about battery life that might be better able to answer your question. I only had the 815 for 2 days and I charge my phone every night, so I guess I don't know how long it takes before it needs a charge. I will not charge my 8100 2nite though and see how long it lasts before it needs a charge.

Have you been able to import contact info from the palm software into your phone? What about syncing it with outlook or palm? Do I simply need a data cable or special software as well? Thanks for any help.

Sorry but I don't have any accessories for the phone yet. But I believe you need a data cable which runs about $30 from Ebay or LG site, and also a software kit which I don't think is being sold yet. I plan to get it when it comes out so I can sync with Outlook.

So, has anyone tested whether the Bluetooth DUN profile works on Verizon's network? I'm only interested in Q2N, but please post results for 1xRTT / EVDO as well.
