Anyone who ACTUALLY has 8100 PLEASE confirm...
That the phone lights up like the 7000 when receiving an incoming call. I apologize for continuing to post on this subject, but after 2 years with the vx10 I think I deserve a little bit of color in my life!!! Please just let me know one way or the other! Thank you so much!!! 🙂

Yes, it does light up, although I have no experience with the 7000, so cannot say it is like that.
As you look at the phone, with flip closed, there is a whitish plastic light cover below the camera lens. It is somewhat U-shaped, as it surrounds the bottom half of the camera.
Look at pictures people have posted of the camera. You can see the white part I am talking about, between the blue face cover and the chrome ring around the camera lens.
When there is an incoming call, the right half of this light flashes blue, red, pink and green, alternately.

Yep, it does flash colors lke insuranceman says. This is the same flash that is used for taking pictures.

Not sure how the 7000 lights up but this one took me by suprise with the vibrant light show that occured with the first call. The flash around the camera flashes different colors.
