1 yr. or 2 yr contract?

I've pretty much decided the first phone of mine will be the 8100. What I want to know is which contract should I get if getting a flagship phone with all the bells and whistles (about a new one every year) is high on the priority list without having to pay out of my behind for each new one. Thanks for any info! I know I'm totally clueless about everything phone related 😕

I will never again get anything over a year because who wants to keep a phone for two years? I don't and it's cheaper to pay $50 up front rather than pay for a new phone or early termination fee.

That's exactly my train of thought....so I pay $65 more upfront (phone and activation difference), but at the end of my 1 year, will Verizon give me a break on a phone price in order to get me to renew?

at the end of 1 year you will be eligible for promotional pricing again (same prices as when you are getting your line now) you could get a one year or a two year price again at that point

Actually it's 10 months. I believe you have to do it at 10 months or before 1 year.

sweet deal. I think the promotional pricing at 10 months is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a bunch guy. Can't wait to get my hands on that VX8100 and the subsequent new phones that come out.

I fully agree. I will never do a two year contract again either. For the $50 savings, it is just not worth being locked in for the extra year.

If you go with a one year contract, and then you follow with another one year contract, will VZN give you the "new every 2" deal? Or do they only give that to subscribers who go with a two year contract from the beginning?

You're only supposed to get it if you initially sign a 2 year. Someone might be nice and give it to you though. If you ask and they say no though, don't be a jerk and keep calling because you will get less and less sympathetic people every time.
