Using the MiniSD Card Per LG's User Manual

Per the LG VX8100 User Manual:
The VX8100 can access the following file types stored on the miniSD card:
My PIX: gif, png, jpg, bmp
My Sounds: qcp, mid
My FLIX: 3gp, 3g2
Ring tones:
Downloaded Via GET It Now application: Stored to phone only
Saved to removable miniSD card: NO: Stored to the phone only
Saving a sound file to the miniSD card & assigning it as a ring tone: NO: Only ring tones downloaded via "Get it now" can be assigned.
Pictures:
Pictures received from other users: YES: Stored to the phone, miniSD card, and can be copied to the desktop
Downloaded via GET it Now application: NO: stored to the phone only
User generated pictures: YES: Information can be stored to the phone, miniSD card and can be copied to the desktop

According to that the only purpose for the memory cards is to save pix and flix that are user-created and nothing more.

I wonder though about the renaming of .mp3's to .mid would stil work though.

Maybe I got my hopes up way too high about this phone.

I have the VX7000 so this is still an upgrade to that so I am still getting it.
