Memory: What happened?

The specifications on this phone said it had 512MB of memory. Now, it has a question mark.... (?) what happened?

512 Mb mega bit = 64KByte

aside from cguy's answer, my guess is that it was listed as having 512MB mem bc of the miniSD slot that can handle up to 512MB cards. sneeky bastards.
