My Story: E815 and why it’s better then 8100
I know I say this every time I start a post and I’m say it again, I’m a Verizon EMP “data department”
At one point I was thinking of buying the 8100, I use to always say once the Koreans get on the ball and start added Bluetooth to there phones, I wouldn’t feel forced into buying an all American Motorola. I like to call them good ol’ “Chevy” phones.
One thing about CDMA LG phones is they look cheap and boring.
On paper, and looking at pictures of the 8100 it liked that it was going to be it for me, and I wanted that phone so bad. A week later, I found out a good friend of mine was testing the phone, so I paid him a visit. When I first laid eyes on the phone, it looked like the same unat...

Ummmm when my 850 is paired with the headset and I press the button, it says....say a command. Your's is messed up.

Well I'm going to try it agian friday.
I was doing all this on a test 8100, maybe they fixed that in the final release of the phone software.
Question: has anyone got the phone to do Bluetooth DUN yet with a computer or PDA??
...
And it took me 10 seconds to pair my headset.
I love the phone. It works, looks, feels, and sounds great!
Let everyone decide for themselves, that's why VZW has the 15 days return policy.
E815 they forgot to load Vcast software on half of them.
I wonder which phone is getting the returns...
...
It really is a matter of personal preference...but there has to be some reason that the e815 is so much less money.

Well the E815 is an older phone, it's been out for a while, just Verizon took it's time bring it to the market.
Verizon's reasoning for doing it was because it wanted to bring this phone and the 8100, and soon to come Samsung A970(I forget the model number). around the sametime, when they had EVDO in so many markets.
8100 is a newer phone, it also has more phone memory.
8100, and the E815 have about the same features.
But like I said before with a few seem edits you can really use the features of the E815.
Copying files to you phone over Bluetooth OBEX, never gets old.
I don't know about you, but I'm not going to pay 200 dollars for a phone that has limited BT Features. MP3's features disabled. Can't Transfer from MiniSD to pho...

Boy, my 8100 works just fine. When I push the button on my Motorola HF820 it responds with "say a command". Works perfectly and had no problem finding or setting the handsfree kit. When I hear someone try to bash a product with the set up of "I am an insider" and then they just get things all wrong it makes it sounds like this is a case of someone trying to bash a phone with false credentials and big words. Maybe a player from another service that does not have the hottest phone out now...maybe?...huh???? you think????

If the phone's master volume is set to high and you use your BT HF820, is there a volume control to make the volume even louder than if you did not have the headset at all? My mom has hearing problems so I'm trying to find a way to make the volume of the phone louder on her end, and on mine if I need it (the wonders of having a honda with lots of road noise).
Thanks-

Not sure what you are asking....the hf820 has a volume control on it.
...
Sorry, I've never had a bluetooth headset- if the volume on the 8100 is too low for me, can I fix that problem by getting the hf820 and use the BT volume control on the headset to make the 8100 sound even louder than if I weren't using the headset at all? I'm just searching for a way to increase the loudness of the phone and wondered if using a headset with volume control could make it even louder. Hope that clarifies things and I appreciate the info! Thanks.

Oh, the set I have is not a headset...it is a hands free car speaker.

Motorola may be an "American" company, but the phones are made in China, I believe. 😁
