well u can add memory to your phone. their is a 1 gigabyte mini sd card thats new, and it cost me 82 bucks online, and thats the only place i think u can get it. a lot of stores have less memory, but you can use it for music, more pics, more video recordings, more everything basically.

I don't believe the 8100 supports a 1GB card. LG says its only supports up to 512MB.

Found out on this forum. I am just walking out the door, but will try to find it when I get home later and include a link to it. Off the top of my head, I remeber I had to go to the settings on my home computer and uncheck something regarding file extenstions, then after saving songs as .mp3, had to right click and rename them .qcp, then copy them to my card and they worked!

thanks, but i mean on your phone. what program did you use on your lg 8100 to play full mp3 songs, cuz i put my cousins mini disc with mp3s and no program came up on my fone and i couldnt find how to play the songs

On menu, go to "GET IT NOW" choose 1. Get Tunes & Tones, then 3. Sounds, and they should show up there.

and those can be full mp3s, like 4 minute songs? all i have to do is put a mini sd card with songs and then hundreds of real full songs will be on my sounds? sry if im askin to much questions but ima return my fone if i cant play full mp3s

Yes. All the songs I put on mine using this method are FULL songs! It was really easy to do. I was so excited when I did it and it worked!

The advantage of getting one isn't completely clear yet. If you search the forum you will find some people have been able to store and use files from the card and some haven't. It looks like it was intended to be used with the MOD (Music On Demand) service, which hasn't been implemented by Verizon yet. So buy it at your own risk . . . 🙂

I received this miniSD Card in 5 days from date of my on-line order. It comes with the adapter. It can be used as a SD Card (using the adapter) or as a miniSD Card (not using the adapter). Good price I thought. I selected the free shipping option.
