What's the best resolution to have camera set on for everyday pics?

What is the best resolution to have the camera set on for everyday pics? I mean, I know I can change it from pic to pic, but what is the best to keep it on for when I just pull the phone out for a quick shot with out time to "set" anything up.

If you are going to load them onto a PC then the highest resolution should be used. However the zoom is only available when the resolution is set to 640 x 480 or lower.
