I guess everyone out there who is buying BT headsets, data cables, mini SD cards, etc., etc., has no problems at all with the phone... RIGHT??
I'm gonna wait until some of the problems discussed here are addressed by Verizon or LG before I sink anymore money into it!
We are all conjecturing about solutions, but we really don't know if there will be enough to fix all problems.
If it's a good phone, it should stand on its own, without having to re-manufacture it into a good phone by hacking!!!
So far, I love the phone. BUT I don't like the drifting volume problem, which could be enough to push me over the edge if it's not fixed...
I've only got 11 days left to make up my mind about the volume problem... 😡
...
I am teetering on the fence myself. If the issue is not addressed verizon is going to have to eat a returned phone. Every time I go by my partners e815 I pick it up and say "I could live with this".
...
It seems Verizon will have to eat a truck load of returns if the problem isn't fixed. With all the other issues (MP3, ringtones, etc.) they can make excuses and disclaimers. But if the phone doesn't function competently as a PHONE, what good is it??
I'd hate to give it up because I just LOVE it!
But when the novelty wears off, the romance will be over if the telephone's main function doesn't work properly!! 🙄
Let's hope...

Yup, I am glad I did not send in the rebate yet.

I thought, according to what you posted on the e815 forum, that you were keeping your 8100, and I thought you were so excited about your Star Trek ringtones? What gives?
...
I am having the same volume issues here as well.............although randomly...............my husband is in the military and I depend on his nightly phone calls......I am sick of saying honey I didn't catch that.............I am down to 8 days and would really hate to give the phone up.............but right now although sad to say hubby is top priority any other time and it def. be the phone..........lol 😉

I know your question wasn't addressed to me, but I'll say that this is a day-to-day evaluation. As problems arise or become more wide-spread, sentiment changes.
Just today I went back to VZW store to look around again. I still cannot find a phone as nice as the 8100.. including the e815. The 815 still feels flimsy to me.
If the fluctuating/insufficient-volume problem becomes unbearable, I'll change to a different phone. I may even go back to my 6000 which was great.
In the meanwhile, I might try another 8100. I'm gonna stay with it until I exhaust all possibilities before I defect!! 😎
...
I have to agree with you.....I really love the phone...I really do not want to defect.........I went from the 6100 and the glitches it had straigthed out so maybe I just need to be patient. Thanks 🙂

You could always try the 7000. You would give up some features like bluetooth and possibly MP3, but I can say it is a good, reliable phone.

ONE WORD , CRIPPLD ! Its sad , I took mine back and got the i730 . 32 megs of memory , A media player buried deeper than china , no mp3 player, and Verizon t-support tells me to call LG and they might tell me how to find a hidden mp3 player ?? PATHETIC ! 🙄
