One/Two Week Assessment

palermo22

As I still await our two 8100s arriving later this week - I was wondering if anyone has had their phones going on the 2nd or 3rd week and would like to make a quick assessment for everyone else. What I am mainly curious about is whether in your opinion the reception and loudness/clarity issues are dissipating (or at least stabilizing). As you become more familiar with the phone and I guess its idiosyncrasies - do you have a more favorable opinion of it as opposed to the first few days that you had it (or I guess a less favorable opinion after seeing more problems arise from your first few days use)?

The phone sucked the day I bought it, several days later, and sucked even more the day I returned it. The reception is horrible and you will have the same results. Serious brah you should cancel you order, why buy a phone that is already know for a weak signal. Good luck.

And just for the record I'm not an LG hater. I bought the phone and it sucked.

Good luck

...as I've only had one. Some people report no problem and other's say they exchanged for another 8100 and have not had the problem again (yet?)

I would not cancel the order.

I myself only had the problem once, but I'm going to be on the phone a lot over the next few days and if I have a problem, I will exchange my phone for another 8100.

Ok, you have 15 days to try out your phone and if you have problems - Verizon allows you to exchange the phone without any questions asked. If Verizon says "well maybe you just got a defective phone - here, try another 8100" - is there a new 15 day "no questions asked" exchange period or because you were given the same phone is there just one 15 day exchange period - counting from when you got your original 8100???

No new 15 day trial, you only have within the original 15 days. That include the decision to switch to a different phone, or even just to exchange for a new 8100 - no questions asked. After the original 15 days, they will have to replicate your problem and will try to fix or will replace, as detailed in the earlier post.

So hurry up and exchange your 8100 for a new one so you still have time to decide on a different model.

A very good question! And, when your 8100 is returned within that 15 day period that is available, what does Verizon do with that "returned" phone?

So this really presents a quandary for me: let's say the 8100 gives me problems - and from what I hear the 815 may not be a salvation either. Since I am a new (just signed up) Verizon customer - I either go with one of their older phones OR go to a different carrier. That choice doesn't seem great either because I hear both Cingular and Sprint also have their problems. One would think that in an industry well into its 3rd decade (80s/90s/00s) -- would not be having these type of problems.

...your problem, so they'll fix it or give you a replacement 8100.

I think the long time Verizon customers will agree that Tech Support is pretty good.

I highly recommend the LGMotoSung A8115. It's a "perfect" phone. 😁

Seriously, these are all new phones with new software. They are going to have problems for a while. I like my 8100 and I know there are people who like the e815 and I know there are people who like Samsung...

If you understand what you need in a phone, the decision becomes substantially easier. I wanted a decent connection (not perfect), I wanted something with a low SAR rating (it's a personal decision) and I wanted bluetooth so I could connect to the Motorola bluetooth speaker so I could drive a little more safely while on the phone. For that it equalled the 8100. It's not perfect - far from it. But it works well enough for me.

Good luck
