Hey I'm about to order the Motorola hs850 from CompUSA for a cheap $69.99 but I was wondering if any of you have already tried it on the LG phone, because the hs850 has a bluetooth version of 1.2 and the LG has a version of 1.1.......
Anyone own both???
...
I have owned both and they both work perfectly. I decided, though, to go with the Jabra BT250V, which has a vibrate feature and has a gel ear piece that fits into your ear and fits more securely IMO. You will be happy with the functionality of the Motorola HS850 though.

i own the hs850 and i love it. i think all the jabras are ugly as hell but thats my opinion

I picked up the HS820 the day I got my phone. I went back Monday, after one week with the 820, and picked up both the 850 and the Jabra250. I'm trying them all to see which one I will keep. So far, I like the button placement better on the 820 and 850. The Jabra has better sound on my end, in most situations, but I'm not completely sold on it yet. I will go back to the 820 tomorrow, to see how I feel about it after using the other two, but I'm thinking it really wasn't that bad. I will post a complete review in a few days.

How is the quality on your 820? I just received my hs820 from ebay today, and am very disapointed in the quality, it is full of static and seems to have bad reception. Is there a setting I can change? This is my first BT headset.

I'm going to use the 820 again today, to see how I feel about it after using the other two. I'm not so sure it's that much worse than the other two on my end, but on the receiver's end where it makes a difference.

yeah i had the 820. had the same problem so i got rid of it and got the 850

Me too. Had the Moto 850. Worked fine, but a little low on in-coming call notification. Switched to Jabra BT250v. More secure fit and like the vibrate notification. Can't get the call-waiting to work from headset button - only phone. Never tried the Moto. 🤣 🤣

Mortfe,
In the Jabra manual, there are other instructions for pairing with a voice commmand phone. Did you try that and CW still didn't work?
...
Tried that. The whole piece is no good. Had to replace it. Will try again. Yes, I did follow the other setup. Everything worked except CW. I could switch back-and-forth from phone and would transfer to headset, but not from the headset itself.

I have tried 2 headsets so far, the Plantronics M2500 ($29.99) and the Moto HS850 ($69.99). I think that the Plantronics piece was a bit bulky-looking, but seemed to be more comfortable and secure on the ear. And because it has an earpiece that goes in the ear it seems to be louder. But the buttons are not as functional as the Moto (you have to press down the on/off button for 6-7 seconds to connect/disconnect it). The Moto is very cool-looking with the blue light, and I love the flip boom mic. You flip it open to turn on and flip closed to turn off and it's very small when it's closed. It does sound pretty good, but it's still not as loud because the earpiece sits outside the ear. The buttons are very easy to use and functional. But...

Given up on the Jabra. Had bad unit replaced. Still having trouble with Voice Command and still NO call waiting. Going back to the Moto. Also waiting for "phonephetish" to see how he likes the Scala 500.

I was using the Moto HS850 today on a 1/2 hour phone call while driving home. The person on the other end had to ask me to repeat myself a few times and had trouble hearing me. I had the windows up and radio off. I am also having a real discomfort issue with the fit on the ear. As small as it is, my ear is sore after wearing it just during the commute home from work (about 1 hr). And it feels like I'm still wearing it when I take it off. If it's that bad I can't imagine wearing it all day. I am waiting for the Scala and hope I get better luck. It shipped today so maybe I'll get it as early as tomorrow? If that doesn't work I'm going to have to stick with the Plantronics--I just hate how bulky it is.

I have the HF820 speaker. It was working fine until just recently. It recognizes the commands, numbers, etc. but when I confirm the number or name, it hangs up. Weird that it was working fine until just recently.

I'm going to ask a really stupid question--- have you re-trained your voice commands? I had a problem with mine not recognizing my voice until I re-did them.

Don't have to re-train the voice recognition. It works fine if I use the built in 8100 speaker. And it doesn't say it can't recognize my command - it just hangs up.
In other words, it asks if it has the right number, then beeps. I say "yes" and the phone hangs up... EVERY TIME.
However, if I'm not using the Motorola Bluetooth speaker, it works fine. No problems at all.

I'm late on this, but if people are having voice recognition problems on bluetooth speakers, try "training" thru the bluetooth speaker rather than thru the phone itself.

I believe several have tried that - at least a few of us mentioned that quite some time ago. It helped, but only minimally.
