1) When I use speakerphone others complain that the call quality is not good, they say that it gets crackly and they hear a lot of background noise as well as echo. It's not bearable for them. I've tried both on landlines and other cell phones.
2) When I go to take flix, as I'm recording, the phone reboots. Doesn't happen all the time, but happens very often.
3)When I take high-res pics (640x480 or 1280x960) in low light, when I actually click the button to take the pic, the one it took is very grainy compared to what I was looking at on the viewfinder before I took the pic.
4) Sometime when I receive a call and I have the phone set to Vibrate only it rings as well, also

The VX8100 does not have an MP3 player, but the phone is capable of playing MP3 tones through the MOD (Music On Demand) service that is offered and supported by Verizon. LG does not provide support for this feature on the phone. At this time, the MOD service is not yet available for the VX8100. LG either never learns or doesn't care. The last few models of LGs that have been released are widely documented on the forums as having poor - mediorce RF and low/fluctuating volume (4500, 4700, 6100, 8000 and now seemingly the 8100).

Verizon sets performace criteria but the phone manufacturers usually do supply their own firmware and operating systems - thats why the LG, Moto, Samsung interfaces are all different. (An exception would be the smart phones that use Windows Mobile. The interface is largely the same because the handset manufacturers license the software from Microsoft.) The software interacts with a pretty standard CDMA chipset (which they either buy or manufacture themselves) and Verizon's network technology.
