bitpim wont find my phone!!!

ok so i plugged in the usb port into the phone and then into my computer but bitpim says it cannot detect any phone!!! what am i doing wrong?

I had the same problem. It does not have the 8100 listed you have to choose "Other CDMA" There is some info in the thread that I posted and other info in another thread on this forum.

What version of bitpim did you use to make it work?

7.33 If I rememebr correctly. It is whatever the latest version is.

yeah mine doesnt work either... on your 8100 under pc connection what type do you chose? i would obviously assume usb but since it doesnt work for me....

Try serial as well. Make sure you are using the right drivers. I use the LG USB drivers from the mobile office kit. I have gotten my to connect using both.

actually i have a mac though and i dont even think you USE drivers for that... ugh i'm so confused.

I just received the serial cable from lg for this phone. Ordered off the lg site. I have not been able to get bitpim to recognize the phone using a bunch of different settings including the ones here...if anyone has a step by step setup process for using the serial cable, and the bitpim software, please help!

Have you tried QPST yet (a program like Bitpim)? Worked for me. You can find it by google searching "qpst2_71.zip". I have a suggestion for getting it working. You will probably have to "Add" the com port that the cable is setup on. So figure out what port the cable is using by finding it in the device manager. Then add that port in the "QPST configuration" by clicking the "Ports" tab at the top of the program. Then add new port.
