I Still Love This Phone!

1) The battery dies quick. Alomost overnight. But it's the standard battery, so I didn't hope for much. I always buy the extended battery anyway.
2) No MP3 player. Oh well. It would have been nice, but then again I own an ipod.
3) I LOVE the disco lights. The light also helps when it's dark and the sound is turned down and the car stereo over powers the ringer.
4)Bluetooth and hands free link in the car works awesome.
4) I have had NO volume issues. Or at least I haven't yet. (And it's been three weeks without issue.)
5) I love the speakers and how loud they are.
6) Storing contacts is the way more organized than the Motorola E815.
7) The camera is okay. But there isn't a cell phone out there with a perfect camera unless you...

Finally, someone has something positive to say about this phone. I'm with you. I love it too.

I love it, too. But you are lucky! Others are not necessarily "negative" but have legitimate, unresolved issues, like the volume problem, for example.

Their feedback is essential to a forum like this. If you have positive comments, please post them; and if you have negative comments, please post them, as well.

But if you're a "basher", take a hike!! 🤣

I have to say I also LOVE this phone! I like the studiness of it (used an 815 for a week and it was the cheapest feeling phone I have ever had, except for the 710, which is basically the same, which I also only had for about a week before taking it back for my 6100) It has an awesome look IMO, love the blue, love the lights, reception, battery and volume are all great for me! I have had none of the problems others have (knock on wood) and all in all, I'm very excited and happy about this phone!

My phone is great, i love it! I came from the 6000, Dropped calls? HAHA its the service not the phone.. Its the area you are in.. i got them with my 6000, im used to it.. The signal is a bit weaker then my 6000 was in some areas, but nothing to cringe over.. Everything about this phone i love.. i have a working MP3 player on it via the howard forum links. I have modded my old 6000 cable to work with the 8100 also (thanks Dremel). I have nothing negative to say about this phone at all.

I have one thing against Moto and that is there software, i hate it.. that is why i switched to LG in the first place. Its not as user friendly as the LG software, the ease of use on the LG is great, quick and convenient.

I can't say I loved the phone but I did like it! However, because we were within the first 15 days of being a Verizon customer - it just made sense to return the phones (I looked at the 815 but would never consider such a cheap looking phone) and wait for (a) the 8100 to have all its problems cleared up and/or (b) see if the new Samsung 970 turns out to be a better phone and then I'll go in that direction (from all indications it should be out within the next three months).

Some of you have commented that the Samsung 890 was a great phone and you would have stuck with that if it had speakerphone and Bluetooth - hopefully the 970 will be that perfect phone (as if there really is a perfect phone) - or at least not have the 8100's initial ...

Just wanted to join in the lovefest. I went to a Verizon store to exchange the 8100 I bought for a new one (I could deal with all the issues, EXCEPT for the picture delay) and hopefully the one I get will be perfect. With that said, I'll keep my new 8100 even if it still has al the same problems. I love the disco lights too (and I'm a guy who also loves women), I love the sturdiness, the look of it and the fact you can have different wallpapers for the exterior and interior LCDs... and they can be video wallpaper too!
Great first phone for me. Wouldn't trade it for the world.... but we'll see what I say when the a970 comes out 😁

The A970 does look nice. And I LOVE Samsung.
But I'm not ready to sit around and wait another few months for a phone. Then watch everyone complain about it and return them because it didn't meet their expectations.
I will however maybe pick that one up about 6-8 months after it's released. But who knows if I wait my two years there will be a 3 mega pixel phone available with a built in ipod and satellite TV. Who knows?
But for now, I still love my phone!

If I were in the middle of my contract I would be doing the same as you guys. I think this phone is good and will likely be great once its problems are solved. However, for me being within the first week of a Verizon contract - why should I accept something inferior - with nothing else to use in the meantime. The best scenerio for me is to wait and see what develops with the 8100 and the A970.

I also agree that one cannot keep looking ahead - especially when it comes to cell phones and computer related items. These industries are still very young and the evolution will be having unbelieveable products year-after-year. Just as the now DVD machines make the early betamax look like an antique (and that was only 20 years ago) - product...

** keep waitin sugar. **
The A970's going to rock until it's in Verizons hands.
Besides check the forum's for all of verizon's phones, it doesn't matter which model you choose, there will be something wrong with it.

Personally I think that swivel screen on the 970 is trouble. It will be inherently less sturdy and I think most people are harder on their phones as I am. I thought my V60i was one of the sturdiest phones ever made as Ive dropped it on concrete many times and only get a small scratch but a verizon employee
recently told me people would break the hinge from opening it too wide or to forcefully.

point is, that swivel screen is too small of a connection to the lower pard of the phone, and make it swivel too? Just more parts to break.
