Can you return/exchange with no UPC code?

I'd like to know what happens if you go to a Verizon Store to return or exchange your phone but you already sent your rebate so the box doesn't have a UPC code? I know they wouldn't accept a pleasure return, but I'm thinking it might be different if it's because of dissatisfaction or a problem with the phone. Also, how would it help if you buy the optional warranty? They replace phones within the first year even without the packaging as far as I know, it would be nice to hear some experiences. Thanks.

Unfortunately, if you remove the UPC, you are no longer eligible for the 15 day guarentee, BUT if you purchased the insurance, you can make a claim, pay a $50.00 deductible, and they will send you a brand new phone. You do have to return your old one, but you don't need to send the box. I've actually just sent the phone only back when I've recieved the new one and kept the accessories.
