LG VX-8100
PLEASE HELP!
Hi all,
I have been following this thread for weeks...And yet I am caught between E815a nd 8100... đĸ I have a 710 now and so far so good its done well...While my boyfriends have crapped out. So the bottom line is ..Can the 8100 play my music as ringtones...Does anyone know for sure if i cut and edit a song that I can load it as mp3 or wav or whatever and play it back using it as a ringtone.
I am already sold on graphics and speaker and GOD knows Bluetooth it a must... But I need to know about the ringtones...
Some say yes and some say no..Which is it?

No- it can't (courtesy of Verizon) directly. There are ways around that if you do a search on ringtones in this forum.

Thanks, So what ur saying is yes it is possible to go around the fact that is was disabled? I do have a few printed out instructions from the forum but all are of them are different in how to go about doing it. I just don't want to purchase the phone and get stuck with it while I have a working 710.... Hell what are the chances a better phone will be out for Christmas or New Year?

If you are going to look at Samsung SCH-A970 for the MP3 functions then you may want to look at Sprint's Samsung version. Verizon will cripple the SCH-A970 as they did this phone.

VZW will just cripple the darn thing as it does with all it's phones. Case in point is the 8100........awesome phone that can almost cook breakfast (LOL) but you can not make use of it's full capabilities âšī¸
They make a ton of money with "Get It Now" and that is the reason...............like it or not LOL....... đđđ

All in all I am currently happy with the Damn 710 although Verizon crippled the mp3 on the new ones they are passing out now.... I will hold off a little more and see what you SMART people come up with to crack this thing wide open...That or eventually I will cave and buy the phone for cost a whooping $310 and leave my upgrade for a better future.
I did look at the Samsung A970...Freakishly looking phone I must say.... But I know from the past that samsung is durable and I have had no software problems with their phone.
Hell...I am a Verizon client because I have SINGAL everywhere... If I wanted kool phones and no service I would go GSM.
