So Long For Now LG
After 10 days with the 8100, I finally admitted defeat. My last 2 phones were LG so I naturally couldn't wait for the 8100 to arrive. In the last 10 days, I've had about every problem mentioned on this forum. If it were only me, I would have chalked it up to a bad phone. But, it's obvious these problems are fairly common to the phone.
For the last 3 days. I've been trying the Moto E815. After only 3 days, my choice has been made. I'm still in shock that a Moto so overwhelmingly out performs an LG. It just seems unnatural, but it is the reality. I won't go into how impressed I am with the Moto. This is not the place for that. I'm just glad to have a phone with exceptional reception. That's the sole reason for having a phone in the first pl...

I agree with you also, I may come back if they get it together. I don't have high expectations for the Moto, but for now it does what I want and better than the lg could. I don't believe in the bad batch theory because I had 2 8100's, one from the store, and one sent fedex, both were bad. We have had 3 lgs here to date and all were good but this one. We will see what happens when the Moto dies, until then I am just happy the Moto works. I too liked what the lg had to offer, but it is supposed to be a phone 1st & foremost, and that is the part that didn't work. All the other stuff is just gravy. I have an ipod, palm, and digital camera, no need for that on my phone.

Had to face the reality of the situation. I'm happy for everyone who likes their 8100. For me, the E815 is the better phone. I haven't been a Moto fan since my StarTac, but they sure got this one right.

Are you guys sure you have the phone positioned over your ear properly? If the phone is a little up or a little down on your ear it wont sound right. Guess not
Please form an orderly line when rushing back to the verizon store with 8100.
PS
My 8100 works fine with no problems.

My 8100 reception problem wasn't the ear to phone position. I tried that. As a matter of fact, my 815 can be a little picky about ear position too.
I guess the problem I had with the 8100 reception was not so much a problem as it was the lack of improvement. There were always a few areas of low reception/signal strength/voice quality, especially in my house. The 8100 was no better than any other phone I've had. While the E815 had full bars and was consistently load and clear. The improvement was not just a little, but a lot. Maybe it's not that the 8100 is a bad phone, it's just that the Moto was such a huge improvement.
I'm still an LG fan, it's just that the Moto won the 8100 vs 815 match up. Whether I wanted it to, or not.

Had the 8100 for 7 days, like original poster had LG before that was perfection, but the volume issue was too much. I ended up with the samsung 890 which I think is an outstanding phone if you can live without bluetooth and speakerphone. The 815 was also considered, though despite the best looking internal display I have ever seen felt cheaply built. But I can see why people like it.
