You will void your warranty instantly if you take the phone apart.
The phone is designed to have the lights flash when a call rings which comes in very handy when in a noisy environment like a car with the stereo cranked up etc.
I keep mine in a pouch/case and the flashing lights are never viewed by other humans.

I bought a vinyl hard case on line (which replaces the useless belt clip they give you with the phone) and you can place the phone in that case facing inward which protects the screen and no one sees the lights. It attaches to your belt just like any other clip.
Personally, I like the lights because they tell me call progress etc.
Something different for everyone.

You might check on the LG 7000 forum. This annoyance of the disco lights came up then too. I know many people like them, but I returned the 7000 for this sole reason. They were just a little too unprofessional for my tastes.

Well, I think the professional world is changing to more "liberal."

Remember MetLife using Snoopy as it's spokesman?

How about IBM using Charlie Chaplin?

GEICO using the gecko!

There was a time when professionalism meant wearing a navy blue suit every day! 😲

I can understand your not liking the lights because of personal taste, but in today's world, I don't think it's less professional than a phone that doesn't have them. Sure, it looks like something out of Ikea, but it's avant-garde! Swanky!

...or something like that!

I see your point. Unfortunately, I work in the federal government, and they're a little behind the private sector as far as trends go.

I guess my problem with the lights was (1) that there was no control for them. And (2), that I believe a call alert light should be a subtle and discreet reminder that you're receiving call. Not a blaring array of strobe lights. I think maybe LG just got a little carried away with the micro LED technology that allows multiple colors from a very small space.

Anyway, I appreciate your reply.

Haha, Actually thats how I get girls. I'll be at a club, my phone starts ringing and before you know it I got a swarm of chicks around me asking me about it! Then they start break dancing with me!

That's actually a good idea. All this time I've been using babies and puppies to pick up chicks. 🙂
