I purchased a Universal data cable for all phones including my LGVX8100 but the cable kit says it only goes up to 8000 but i heard the cables are the same. i downloaded bitpim and it cant recognize it is there something i need to do on the phone to get this to work?

i ran into the same problem, try to find your stuff through the file system option, that is how i got mine working, you can't just add pix, and ringers and export them to your phone, you have to go in the file system, once in there you need to do this
