I need to turn my 8100 in by Sunday if I'm going to keep it. I'm not going to keep it if they don't start working out the bugs soon!

I read here the 6100 has had several updates and it works like its supposed to now.

I WANT A PHONE THAT WORKS!

Just got off the phone with a DITZY VZW service rep. She claims that the software update is to DISABLE the MP3 player. Are you F%#*^@G kidding me. These people have NO clue. I told her "Get a clue...the phones mp3 playeer has never worked. If anything you people should be turning the thing on as well as fixing some the other problems I hear people complainig about."

* I personally dont have the problems with mine but I am fighting for you guys 😎

When she said the update may disable the MP3 player, it may have been in response to this forum. People have figured ways to use this media player, and maybe the VZW update is designed to put another road block up to keep people from hacking it. For example, with the LG 8000, you could email .mid files to your phone and use them as ringtones. I recently got an 8000, and that function didn't work anymore. I'm assuming that I had an updated version of the phone

She must be thinking the 8000... the firmware update for the 8000 does disable the usb modem connection, but where she actually got the disabling the mp3 on it i have no clue.

He said VZW doens't do the software. LG does and they are working on fixing an issue with the sound quality and an issue people were having with dropped calls.

I thought VZW did the software and LG just built the phone. Who knows...

Still trying to decide whether to hang onto this thing.

I even had difficulty hearing the guy as I was talking to him.

I talked to an LG rep when he came into our store. I voiced a lot of the concernst that I've read on here. Told him about the sound volume, bluetooth having an echo and not working so well with my headset (maybe it's just me, but I had to tell him cuz it was annoying me), the intermittent resetting of the phone. He told me that they are aware of the issues and that they are working on a software upgrade. I don't know if it's true or not but he also told me that the new software would enable the mp3 player. That's what he said so don't take my word for it. I didn't have much time to talk to him cuz it was busy but I hope he forwards the concerns to the higher-ups, for our sake.

Secondly, most have been talking about the menu being the sam...
