To listen to MP3's via the "My Sounds" menu is easy. You don't need special software or usb
cables.

I'm not sure how to use the so-called media player or how to make ringtones to use with the phone. But here are some easy breezy steps.

Required: vx8100, Mini SD card, card reader, and you freakin pc.

1. Take any MP3's you have...and using your computer...change the file extension from ".mp3" to ".mid".

2. Load these to the card in the appropriate "my sounds" folder.

3. Pop the card in the phone and roll.

Its not a very cool solution but it works.

You can also send files in the with the ".mid" extension using your 10 digit [email protected]. The file has to be under 350kb. It will hit the phone as a pix message. ...

Nope this method doesn't work with the front buttons. Just rename the files to ".mid" on the end.

Oh my *$#($&@(&$#@(((!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How many times is this going to be brought up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First of all....FRONT BUTTONS CURRENTLY DO NOT WORK TO PLAY MP3'S AND WON'T UNLESS THERE IS AN UPDATE THAT ENABLES THE MP3 PLAYER, WHICH NOONE KNOWS FOR SURE IF OR WHEN THIS WILL EVEN HAPPEN, and second of all, you don't just simply rename them, which by the way you rename them by right clicking them on your desktop, choose rename, then change it to .qcp instead of .mp3, but you also have to have "hide unknown file extentions" unchecked on your computer! READ PAST FORUMS, I MYSELF AND MANY OTHERS HAVE TALKED EXPLAINED THIS INTO THE GROUND! Also, don't believe that someone has a so called secret......if they really knew somethin...

OK, so when you put a mid in the 'my sounds' folder on the card and pop it in the phone, how do you access the files on the card?

Also, in trying the email method, it doesn't work for me it tells me that it cannot play the video.
