Did you download the drivers for the phone on the LG website? I have the 8100 and downloaded the 8000 driver which works fine. I don't know about hte 7000 and 6100 though. And on bitpim go to edit, settings, change phone type to 8100/7000/6100 and browse for the com port (it will see it when you plug in the phone). Then select filesystem tab and that's where you find the ringtones, sounds, etc. I just started playing around with all of this yesterday so I'm new to it too.

Sorry but that's what I did and it worked. I only tried with the 8100. I selected phone type as 8000, browsed and selected COM4 (LGE CDMA USB serial port) from the list. At first there was no filesystem tab, but I found it under the "view" menu, view filesystem. I read on a thread somewhere that you may want to try opening the bitpim first, then plug in the cable. Don't know if that will help.

That's the link to the product info on VX8000 on LG website (you can find by scrolling through mobile phones on product search). Click on USB modem driver under product line info.

I know the 7000 driver works for 8000, but i had to install from CD, and let windows plug n play re-install it as well for it to work... hope that helps.
