THERE MAY BE HOPE... for MP3 player on the 8100

Maybe you've noticed that the new Samsung A970 has an MP3 player, and Verizon has included instructions for it's use in its online manual...

So, do you think Verizon might enable it on the 8100? Why would they enable it on one VCast phone and not the other?

I hope they're finally realizing how ticked-off their customer base is over this greedy nonsense! 😡

We can only dream...

It's so hard to say, but my guess is YES. I mean, if the whole purpose of disabling the MP3 player on the 8100 was to get people to pay for the MOD service, then they would have disabled it on the 815 also, and although the 970 isn't released yet, it looks as though it is going to work on it too, and these are ALL Verizon phones, so why would they disable one and not the rest? They stand to make the same profit from MOD on all of them, which makes me think if a software upgrade is indeed in the works, that it will enable the player.

I am going to have to agree with Mary. I think that Verizon just screwed up when they altered the software and just put the phone on the market as is in the hopes that they would have the problem fixed with an update in the near future.

new SW will fix MP3 I have it works great. Lets you scroll through Playlist when flip is open and when its closed you can skip the song. You can also change the equalizer settings such as, Concert hall, Jazz, 3D Surround. Its pretty cool. But as I stated in another post I dont forsee it coming out right away due to the audio issue this SW did not fix

This sounds like the right answer. Between the other VCast phones that do have MP3 and the screaming customers, I think Verizon has no choice but to enable the MP3 player!!

Hooray!!!
