Is there a way to announce caller/number through Bluetooth?

Just wondering if there was a way to set the phone to announce caller or number through Bluetooth? I LOVE having bluetooth for the convenience, but it sucks that when I get a call I still have to get the phone out of my pocket or purse to see who is calling. I always check caller ID before answering, so it would be awesome if it could announce it. Don't know if this is possible, but if anyone knows, please post! I would love you forever!

Anyone know? I'm sure there isn't, but hoping someone might know if there is.

I really have no idea. But isn't it possible to set unique ringtones for callers in you directory? This may not be the most graceful way to solve the problem, but at least you'd recognize a few frequent callers by their unique ringtones!

Just a thought...

Good idea, I should have thought of that!

What about driving mode? Or does that send the audio to the speaker only and not the headset?

Not in headset.. It only rings or beeps. I hear it from the phone, caller + short ring, before it cuts off. Mine rings in headset. I'm using Scala, but had the same with others. I have my phone ringer set to loud and can hear it clearly, with the radio on.

Mary,

The Samsung A970 apparently has a way to lock out incoming calls.

If you look in the manual under "Security" you'll find it.

Since Verizon is trying to standardize their interface on all their phones, maybe it will be included with the 8100 update.

Here's the link to the A970 manual...

Anyway, my point is that if the number can be selectively locked out, there may also be a way to select if for announcement.

Just a wild guess!!! 😲
