OK for now, I think I'm going to keep the vx8100 and see if the software updates fix the volume/clarity issues.

If I keep it past my 15 days and these issues are not resolved, will I still be able to exchange it or get my money back?

For example - if its not fixed within 6 mos. can I still return/exchange for a new phone?

I love the features/menus/lights/etc. But I hate the reception/sound clarity

The speakerphone is pretty much useless as well.

No refund. They will only replace the phone with a refurbished unit.

Yes only exchanges for same phone due to defect after the 15 days. I exchanged the phone on day 20-something for a brand new unit. I was having issues with volume and my pix/video disappearing. They happen to have a new one available because the store had no returns yet and therefore no refurbished units in the store. But I think you normally will get a refurbished one. I have had no issues with the phone since I exchanged.

After the 15 days, up to 30 days, you can exchange for a BRAND NEW PHONE of the same model due to defect issues, after the 30 days if you need to exchange for defect reasons, you will get a refurbished one up to 1 year under the manuf.warranty. But in either of these cases, after your 15 days you can only exchange for the same model due to defect issues only. If you decide on day 16 that you want a refund or a different phone-too late.

I returned my 8100 for the E815 on day 18.
They were happy to do it as their was no update in sight at the time. that was 2 weeks ago. FYI..
