LG VX-8100
Call to LG, there is no update!!!!!!
I called LG minutes ago because I've gotten the run around from VZW. (The within the next 60 days spiel, by then we should have the update.) The links below are to their website it has the number to call as well. The person I spoke with says they know nothing of an update for the phone, hmmmmm?

you think correctly, calling lg is pointless they will not know anything about verizon software updates.

I am aware that Verizon says they will update the software however, the manufacturer should be aware of such an update. In fact, I would suppose that it would even be available from their website. Firmware updates in general are always given to the manufacturer. For instance you have an HP computer with an Intel Chip, there is an update for it...Low and behold you can get the update from both of their websites. At the very least LG would know about the status of their own product; they are making money from the sells of this phone.

Why should LG update the software? They mfg the phone, sold it to VZW, who put in their own software and f****d it up. If you sell your car to a friend, he messes around with it, are you responsible to fix it? This is a VZW mess, just like the last couple of phones they screwed up. If they weren't so damn greedy and left the software alone you would have a great phone. (Review by C-Net)

actually lg are the ones who recreate the s/w for their phones. verizon doesn't have any thing do w/ s/w. and i called lg. and they said before october there will be a fix for the mp3 functionality. but the volume and sound fixes will be before that

actually thats wrong.. lg has no idea about software upgrades.. heres an email they sent to me when i asked them about an update for the 8100

Is it possible that VZW is the one that does the updates, maybe with some hardware help from LG? Even then, I believe VZW would keep LG updated on S/W updates that way both VZW and LG could feild calls on this matter.
