I could have sworn it was 8pm not long ago, did they just change it? I like Verizon's service and have been with them for several years, but this just sucks. Cingular is 7pm!!
...
As far as I can remember it's always been 9pm. Get IN Calling! Make sure all your friends switch to VZ then you never have to worry!
...
The 9:01pm till 5:59am has been in a ffect for a while now. At least a year I believe. Thats when I switched. And I am sorry to say but Cingular is the same. Although they do at least offer the option of paying $7 to change the times to 7:01pm till 6:59am.
...
ok the last time verizon had 8pm off peak time was oct 2002 the only people that still have that off pk time our customers who never changed their price plans and who have been on them since before the i believe end of october of 2002 hope that helps

Damn no wonder my last couple of bills have been so high! I don't know why I thought it was 8pm for a while...weird. Yeah most of my family is Verizon so it's cool, but a few still have Cingular and ugh Sprint. I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for 7pm minutes.
Thanks guys.
...
I realized I changed my pricing plan within the last few months so I must have had the 8pm before or something. Oh well.
...
yeah if you had an old price plan and you changed to the newer one then yeah you lost your price plan on the upside though if it has not been more than 30 days since the change if you want it back you can change back to your old price plan and get your earlier time back but after 30 days your pretty much stuck
...
That's funny. I remember Verizon being 10pm and Sprint being 9pm until a few years ago. Then they switched it to 9pm VZW and 8pm Sprint. I've never heard of the off-peak being 8pm for verizon, but I don't doubt it. Also, even if you have an old contract with a certain off-peak set time, verizon I think can change that whenever they want. I don't think the in and out times are part of the contract.

Yea I verified with a cust serv rep that my old plan used to be 8pm, I know I had it for at least 4 or 5 years. Then I changed it to a newer one with more minutes a few months ago and it went to the standard 9pm. So I had been using it after 8 without knowing and racking up those damn minutes...oh well...lesson learned. The rep was nice enough to give me a $25 without me askig for anything just to make up for the misunderstanding, which I thought was nice.
...
yeah but dont you pay 7$ more a month for 7 pm nights? thats retahded. also cingular isnt the best service wise for me anyways so...
...
Yea I'm not crazy about Cingular either. I had them years ago and my reception was horrible. But I guess the $7 extra a month is at least an option for those who want to pay.
...
yeah true. but i don't see verizon doing that in the near future. verizon is huge. and has the best coverage. there is no reason to attract other people to verizon by doing that. they don't need to.
...
I agree with you on that. I noticed that other companies like to talk about whenever minutes (Tmobile) and rollover minutes and cool phones (Cingular), but all Verizon really touts is coverage coverage coverage. And they don't have a need to attract more customers because they are so big and have the best cust srvc and coverage. Like everytime I think should I switch I don't because I know I'll regret it.
