Coverplate Color
Does anyone know if you could change the coverplate of the 8100. I'm tired of the dark blue cover. I asked the vzw rep. when i bought the phone and she said you could buy a coverplate at one of those cell phone accessory stands usually found in a mall. Anyone got some info. on this?

you probably wont see them for at least another month or so they have the mold in works in china right now so its only a matter of time

also take note of the fact that when verizon doesnt sell the face plates that means they dont have changeable ones so if you do mess around and change the faceplate and then something happens to your phone it pretty much voids your warranty on that phone just thought you might want to know that

Doesnt Matter Whether Verizon Does it or a phone store does it if you alter the phone in any way it voids a warranty but its my phone and if i wanna spray paint it or put a faceplate on it or get a stupid worthless flashing piece of plastic thats my business

I've looked all over the web and ebay, and still no luck with faceplates. Any thoughts on what color will look good on it? I'm thinking like a dark grey or charcoal color would look pretty sweet.
I'm waiting until they tweak out the bugs and mp3 on this phone and hopefully by then the faceplates will be all over the place. I'm not a fan of the blue myself.

Ive Seen Black and it looks pretty good but I agree with you I think maybe a Dark Charcoal Metallic or something would be good
Dont Expect to see anything until mid september shipment by boat usually takes 4 week or so once the product finally gets produced

a friend goes overseas to those tradeshows and events over there and visits factories
showed me pics he took of some of the phones and new faceplates
nothing spectacular as usual coming from over there
but theres always god knows how many other factories who will produce and come out with faceplates as well
