Susteen's Data Pilot supports the 8100. Version 3.12.0

Edit import/export address book

upload/download ringtones (so much easier than BITPIM file system!)

Download flix and pix (upload not supported yet)

Just thought I'd give the heads up!

Yeah, that update has been out for about a week now. And it does support flix and pix upload; I've used it myself. Just doesn't work w/ calendar and SMS manager. Just click on the button that says "read screen data from mobile phone" its the 4th button from the left on the top row.

Do you know if you can use DataPilot with the VX8100 via Bluetooth or do you need to connect with a cable?

I took a look at the setup menu and it indeed has an infrared option. Whether it works or not is unbeknownst to me.

When using Data Pilot is there any file deletion involved? Would the use of this be considered a warranty killer? Thanx.

What is meant by 'download' version only? What makes it so much easier than BitBim? Just looking to upload tones and pics to phone.

Well, a download version doesn't contain as much capability as the retail version for one thing. And I find Bitpim 0.7.35 does the same functions and its free. Datapilot cost around $50.00. The other question as to whether it voids your warranty, I am not sure however I do recall a Verizon Tech saying thats what they use to transfer your data from one phone to another. (the service charge for that is $10.00 you know)... And the link for the newest version of Bitpim that works w/ the VX8100 is here within the forum I posted it myself. You can just click on my name and view my previous posts to find it. Hope this helps in some way.
