Yeah, whatever just checked its not even out.

I for one, am done trying to track this thing down. I jusst told the Tech to make a note and call me when its in. I must admit that I got the VX8100 primarily to use as a phone and not really as a MP3 Player. I just want all the functions to work.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe the mp3 function will be neat eventually, but this volume bug sucks. So far it seems to stay on vibrate when I tell it to.

I swear everytime I walk into the Verizon Wireless stores I feel the sales people know more then the techs and I know a lot more then all of them combined.

The tech looks at me when I talk to him like a deer trapped in headlights. Either they are trained to play dumb or really don't give a crap. What happened to pride and making a bit of effort. When I asked the Tech if he got the update he of course says "What update?" I didn't know there is anything wrong with that phone.... No one ever said anything to me.

And he wouldn't even look down at his computer to look up anything. Geez it is frustrating.

I wish the guy like Verizon would take responsibility. It is okay for me to hear Yes we are aware of the issues and working on a ...

Besides being stupid, they all lie thru their teeth. I come to the conclusion, anyone with an IQ of 50, can be a VZW sales or tech person. Corporate might not tell them everything, but the managers are privy to certain info. I'm sure they know by now when the update will be available.

Not to continue the bitchfest (well maybe), but it's nice to hear that's not just me and my boss who think this about VZW store employees.

I sometimes go to a VZW dealer that isn't an official store. They're nicer, quicker (no lines), and they usually know what they're talking about.

Man, when my gf was getting a new phone, the VZW store salesman told her that reception is the same in all phones, which is a BLATANT lie. Maybe he didn't know. Still awful customer service. My experience at that store is usually some dick who can't wait to point out where I'm wrong about something.

Call the 800 number and ask for a supervisor. Those are the ones you want to deal with, they'll help you out, they actually know stuff, and they'll wri...

A little insight in how corporate America works... If one were to work for a large company, it may be against company policy to disseminate any information regarding release dates, the content of the release, or any other information regarding said release. In the best interest of protecting any intellectual property rights as well as their employees, the hypothetical corporation may chose to not disclose this information to their employees. Including store managers, as in a large company, information is often times on a need to know basis, and in the grand scheme of things, no one except for the developers, quality assurance, and friendly user trial testers need to know that there's even an update out there.
Say for example that an update...

Tizzle, good post and I concur. I know, when the MP3 player is active people will complain about this too. Hey here is a thought the battery life is not the best, just imagine when MP3s are being played. It will not be like your average Mp3 player. Plus what about the volume? I like my volume to be somewhat loud and it was not loud enough during a VCast Video. Maybe the MP3 function will boost the volume a little more but there is more battery usage. So, the time for listening to MP3s will be limited.

Anyone else notice the significance of the statement above to the fact that we jumped from version 1 to version 4.

Hmmm... Wonder what happened to versions 2 and 3? Failed???

This happens all the time, some other model phones are on V10 when they have only been updated a couple of times. It happens when they make the software, add more to it, make changes, etc. Sometimes it gets to say, V04, before it is aprroved and ready to use.

I know,... That was sort of my point in the orrigional post. Lg can produce an update, but not be satisfactory to Verizon, and so on to the next version. I've seen the release notes for some of the releases on other models, and they contain all the notes for un-released versions. That's pretty much the case. It takes a good long while for them to be approved,... and a bit longer for testing and release. When companies are as big as these, they seldom turn on a dime, know what I mean?
