LG VX-8100
USB Driver! Tried just about everything!! Please HELP!
Ok Guys...I tried hard not to post this question being it has posted over 100 times. I've looked in PhoneScoop and well as Howard Forums. Tried drivers from LG and from the CD that came with my USB cable from eBay. Also bought a mem. card. Downloaded BitPim 0.7.35, not detecting my phone cause of the driver. I have XP Pro. Under Device Manager getting Unknown device under Modems and Ports. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong? By the way, I have the vx8100. Please Help guys without flaming..... ðŸ¤

I don't know what you are trying to use a usb cable for but if it is for INTERNET this phone has no INTERNET capabilities except for Mobile web and that is viewed only on the phones. If you just wont to down load you phone book you can get a blue-tooth usb for a wireless connection. I work for verizon and also had the same ? so I research my self and that is what I found. Hope it helps.

Yes the phone does have internet capabilities, you need to turn them on.

I am having the same problem as jeesare... I tried using the usb data cable drivers that came with the data cable, which I bought from www.vavolo.com(at the time it was listed under the lg vx8100 but it is not there anymore, interesting? however, my data cable is basically the one used for the vx7000 which should work from what I've been reading in the forums), but I still get the same message that my usb device is unknown. I tried the LG modem drivers and they haven't worked either. I have also tried manually installing the usb drivers from device manager but it says the drivers are not for this device. I am at a loss, please help...

btw, I have windows XP SP2 installed and have tried it on my other windows XP system and that doesn't work either.

Update... I tried the futuredial usb data cable drivers last night with no luck, nothing seems to work. The funny thing is that my sister's vx4500 w/ data cable (for vx6100) worked perfectly the first try, wtf? 😕

Are you loading all three drivers?
I had to manually load mine, leave the disk in the drive clear the errors uninstall existing drivers plug in phone when it promts you tell it where the drivers are located it will do this three times there are three seperate drivers for this phone.
