Lax

Can anyone tell me what I need to store then play MP3s on the 8100? This is all new to me so I am really a newbe. I believe I will need a cable (what kind. where) a card (what kind. where). With the above can I just load them on to the card through the phone? I'm just guessing here. Do I need something else to load the card and then put in to the phone?? I got nuthin here. 🤣 Thanks.

I use a mini SD card made by SanDisk and a 5 in 1 Reader made by ImageMate, all things I got at Best Buy. You can't write to the card straight through the bluetooth or anything like that and this is much faster anyway. Minimal cost is around 40 bucks for the card and the reader but that's if you shop around a ton.

I just figured out how to do it without the reader and I can't believe I didn't think of this. You still need a connection to BitPim and you go into the filesystem down to mmc1/my_mp3 and put everything you want in there in mp3 format. Just make sure that your card is in the phone when you do this. I'm gonna keep experimenting with this and see if I can store stuff on the phone itself.

Any luck? I am still waiting to hear how to put MP3s on the phone for as little cost and trouble as possible. This is all new to me. I do not even know what a BitPim is. Sorry. 🤭

If you have a mini SD card and reader that's all you need. Put the card in the reader, drag to copy what you want from your desktop to the card and that's it.

I don't have either. But that sounds like it is the cheapest and easiest. Any idea what size card I should get? If I can hold 100 songs that more then I would need most likely for ever. Thanks. Sorry for the dumb questions.

I have the 256mb card and I have 44 songs on the card. I bought my card on EBAY for $20 dollars and my 5 in 1 card reader for $10.

Hi Mary, Has the update made it to Indiana yet? Maybe about this time next week here in Arizona, maybe. At least the the tech knew what I was talking about. He said a lot of people have called asking about it. Good Luck
