Nope. Tried Issaquah, Redmond, Southcenter, and Bellevue Square. Leaving out downtown directly, I'd say the region hasn't gotten the update yet. I figure I'll try again next week...

Thanks for the update. Last person I spoke to said there wasn't an update released yet. If they work the we do (Western Wireless) There's one person per region that goes out and trains the staff on the flashing software. So it may take some time.

Joy. Of course I'm assuming this isn't the first firmware update they'll be doing. Historically every phone VZW has goes through a few iterations in its lifespan... amazing...

And yes, I was told there wasn't an update released yet... to which I said, would you like me to bring in a laptop and show you some of the videos of v04? 🙂 I told them they need a serious process revision since for the betterment of their customer base it would behoove them to distribute updates as rapidly as possibe when they get released...

Nothing in Portland, Oregon either. My phone continues to be an electronic paperweight.

I honestly don't understand why this update has been released in "segments", i.e. different parts of the country instead of everywhere simultaneously. Whatever. The waiting is the hardest part. Hopefully sooner rather than later, right?

My phone is works well for the most part. I just want the MP3 player. so I guess I just have to be patient. I guess we'll just have to wait it out. 👿

Same here... I think this is the best phone I've ever owned thus far... when it's loud enough that is 🙂

Last I heard (today) from a VZW customer service rep (who was in the local Bellevue support center) was that we should expect the update on Sept 5 (Mon). I also inquired about the recent "issues" being claimed about roaming or whatever slowing things down and he couldn't confirm any of that but that it was likely area-centric. Since the western half of the US is more prone to roaming other systems (since we're less densely populated between cities), they might be slowly releasing it our way to test things. Testing is done regionally after all.

As much as I'm anticipating the volume fix, the MP3 functionality, and perhaps some t...

Just to bump the conversation, I called Woodinville and they said no update yet. And they acknowledged that updates are common for new phones, and to just check back next week, which I will 🙂

FYI - I just updated my phone to V04 at the Issaquah store today!!! Woohoo! Nice and loud earpiece and the addition of "My MP3s", "Status Light" in the menus now. Took 15 minutes and FYI I have around 25 pictures on the phone and about 300 contacts to back up. No custom ringers.

NO, it did not erase any of my pictures
NO, it did not change any of my settings
NO, it didn't have any odd effects (like continuous roaming)

Works great. Now I just need to get a MiniSD card to access some tunes. FYI, In Issaquah Costco, Office Depot, Staples, Radio Shack, Target, and Fred Meyer DO NOT CARRY MiniSD. I just drove around like a nut trying to find something local. The closest seems to be CompUSA and is $60 for 512MB. Oh, and Fry's is a...
