LG VX-8100
getting an 8100 in october...update necessary?
once my contract with verizon ends in october, I will be getting an 8100 or a samsung a970 (depending on the reviews it gets once it comes out)...quick question for anyone who might know - now that the update is out, will it be necessary to get it for phones purchased from now on, or will verizon install it on them before they are sold? sorry for the dumb question

for the 8100s being made now, they should be up to date I'd imagine. There could be a chance, though, that in October when you get a phone, it could be a phone that was manufactured and sent to the store before today. Whenever you get the phone, you can easily go through the menu of the phone there in the store and it'll show you what version your phone has.
