I was wonderring if anyone had any insight on how their system works.

If the stores are connected to the same database, which im assuming they are...how could it be that some places have it, some places are expecting it, and some places haven't heard of it.

Shouldn't they all be able to get it at the same time if they're all connected to the same spot. Is it that some places are just not checking but can get it? Just trying to understand their system because it is quite frustrating. Thanks

I was told yesterday by the tech that installed mine that when the LG guy came to the store with the update(and yes he said LG gave them the update) that he was there for 3-4 hrs installing and explaining the update. He was then heading to another store. This guy was a regional rep. So I am assuming that he has a large area to cover and at 3-4 hrs a pop that will take time. Thats if the story he told was true.

I was actually told by the Redmond, WA store (closest to the MS campus) that essentially update notices are pushed to their servers at night and they get a note the next morning to go get the update. Of course the question in my mind was when they couldn't be proactive and go get it, but that's how their system works.

Also, yes, the whole process of firmware updating is done regionally. So I called all 5 stores local to me and they all have the same answer. So once my region gets it (however that's broken up) they should all get it simultaneously...

Yes, LG does the actual programing of the software, but exactly to what VZW tells them they want. If VZW asked for a startup screen with s**t across the front, that is exactly what LG would create.

Dont you think that they are just advertising a service? I have no money in VZW and I most definitely dont work for them but for the 2 secs its on there it isnt that bad and its a good way for them to advertise to those that buy the phone. I could see being mad if that was the PERMANENT wallpaper. Then I would be the first to scream bloody murder.
