With bitpim 7.35 can you save phonebook contacts uploaded from phone??

I downloaded 7.35 last night and was playing with the phonebook feature. I was able to "get info from phone" and all my phone contacts came up on bitpim, letting me make changes. But I didn't see any way to save those contacts in bitpim. I'm not talking about transferring the changes back to the phone, that I know how to do. But I want to backup what I have on the phone now to bitpim in case I lose the phone or whatever. Can this be done? I don't use Outlook for all my contacts, so I was hoping I don't have to manually input everything in Outlook for a backup, although I'll just have to do it once.

Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, it maintains a record of the last transmission of data whether it was retrieving or transmitting data to the phone.

Ok, click on phonebook tab, then at the top menu select data, then select get phone data.

I retrieved my phonebook from the phone last night, but did not see a way to save it. So I was hoping it was saved somewhere and I could access through bitpim w/o the phone being plugged in. I want to be able to save the retrieved phone data and save as a backup on bitpim, but I don't think there's a way to do this.

Any help?

Its still there it doesn't go away, you could open Bitpim right now and you would see the data from the last time you used Bitpim and you don't need to connect your phone to view it. So in that way it backs your data up automatically. Just be sure when you make a key change to your phone that you hook up to Bitpim, at least thats what I do.

When you mentioned in your last message to make a change to the address book, that's what I had not done before. I had simply sent the phone data to bitpim and it wouldn't save. Now I made a change and my contacts stay in bitpim, even when I closed and re-opened the program. I also sent the changed bitpim phonebook to the phone and it worked fine. This feature is GREAT!

Thanks again shademand for your help!
