Always in roam
I just got the update from the VZW store in the Short Hills Mall in NJ and have the same problem.

I had already done *228 option 1 and 2, removed the battery and verfied network settings in the phone without success.
Now currently waiting for a higher up technician.
(damn, all I wanted to do is listen to some mp3's, argh)

Yea I called them too, they said i need to have the old version flashed back on. Let me know if they tell you anything else.

They told me to go have it reflashed again and if it still does not work they'll replace the phone.
Now this is the best part, they tech asks me what the update fixes. So I had to explain about the MP3 player and that you need a mini sd card. The tech said "that's good info, now I know what to tell customers when they call in."

Anyway, my phone is on extended roaming (flashing triangle) which should not be costing anything until I can find the time to the have the phone reflashed.

Did any go through the service menu to see if your settings were changed? Could have inadvertantly happened during the update?
It may be something you can change yourself through the Service Menu under Network Select or perhaps just be resetting your phone back to default. If resetting it back to default fixes it the most you'll need to do is reset you wallpaper/banner. Perhaps one of these methods might save you an hour or two standing in the VZW tech support line.

as far as reception and roam... my phone works like it did before the update.... except now i can play mp3s all day at work. 😁

This is why the update is delayed in other markets... I have no problem waiting for the update (the only problem Im experiencing is the echo in the BT headset) as long as they fix all the bugs in the new software too

How do you tell if in roam? I got the update and my bluetooth constantly disconnects. Replaced phone - still same.
