software update
i just got the phone yesterday you think that i would already have the update on it???

If the store where you bought it had the update then yes you would have it.

Yeah, if the store you bought it at had the update available they should have either already loaded it on or told you it was available to load, or maybe you need to ask for it. Just because you JUST got it doesn't mean it will already have the update. Some may have been in the store for awhile and even ones still at warehouses won't have the update yet. You could end up getting a replacement months from now and it may not have the update on it.

Can someone post what the updated S/W version is??? I have the phone being shipped to me from Verizon (shipping today) and I want to make sure I have the most updated software on it.
Also, what does the update fix?

What are the odds, since my phone is shipping today, that the one I get will already have the updated software on it?

So will they do the update at the store for me if I just walk in and tell them I want the software update? Or will I have to have a problem with the phone before they will do it?

Actually that's not quite right. I'm an agent and I just got the phone today. It has the new software. When a new software version comes out the warehouse flashes all in stock units with the new software before they are flashed.

Well I know for a fact that all the ones in the stores are not flashed regardlress of whether or not there is an update available or not. Maybe thats policy but policy and reality seldon meet. ☹️

It depends on what it's for. I know there have been cases before where there was a recall and we were instructed to send all stock back to the warehouse.
