HELP! LG 8100 and a high Bill...........AOL
Has anybody experience a higher than high phone bill? I just got mine and it said I text 655 times in the last month. I would have to average 20+ a day which is impossible. I work 2 jobs and don't use it that often. It also says I used 455 air time minutes. I use AOL on my computer and wonder if that could be the problem. I have IM forwarding off. I am very frustrated. Could someone help! âšī¸

If you recieve IM's from AOL on your phone then those are charged to your text messaging allowance.

That is the problem. I did not get them on my phone.

Thats strange. All I can say is that you better check #3282 on a regular basis, if you already dont. It is a free call.

I am just wondering if it is possible that when I am using the computer and aol it is somehow counting them as text to my phone. đ

I dont know that answer but I do know that when I get emails on Yahoo and Hotmail that they are simultaneously sent to my phone. If that helps?

How are your e-mails simultaneously sent to your phone? Did you sign up for that? Are they texted to you? I check my e-maill (yahoo) from my mobile web, but have never heard about an option of having them sent to your phone, which made the orignal post seem strange to me why someone would think using their computer at home would affect there minutes or text allowance.

On Aol you can register your mobile. There is no way that anyone that works could text 655 messages on there phone. I have no idea what is going on. I rarely use the IM on my phone and when I do it is brief.
The only thing I can figure out is when I am on aol and chatting on the computer it is somehow calculating it as a text. Nothing makes sense.

Most likely AIM was still on your phone while you're using AIM on your computer as well. The phone is a bit tricky since you'll still be logged on to AIM when you close your cover or press "end". The only way of logging off is actually signing off on the phone. You probably just have to make sure you're really signed off

That uis the specific reason I didnt sidn up for the IM part of AIM or Yahoo on my phone. I signed up strictly for the email portion of it because as "fdelement" said I am always logged on unless I actually sign off of the services.

Actually I have put my away message up before I closed the lid or exited. But the times I have done that I have probably gotten a total of 20 text for the whole month. đŗ
